Received (received date) Revised (revised date) Communicated by (Name of Editor) ABSTRACT In this paper we present a performance model for a constant service time, globally synchronized multistage interconnection network that is an improvement on earlier work in this eld. The events at the network input are assumed to have a geometric distribution in time. As the events are combined within the network, it can happen that two events arrive simultaneously at one of the network server elements, called a double arrival rate stream (DAR) server. Analytical methods are described to derive the response time and inter-departure time distribution of the double arrival rate constant service time server, which has a queuing property (DAR/D/1). Due to the queuing eeect of the servers in the rst stage of the network, their outputs show a \distorted" geometric distribution, which is known to introduce analytical diiculties in the performance evaluation of the subsequent stages. A method is presented to derive the response time of servers in the second stage, when the network has a uniform workload distribution. It is shown that the knowledge of the response times of the rst and second stage of the network is suucient to predict the total response time of a large network with an accuracy better than 3%, even under a heavy workload.

Performance Analysis of a New Neural Network for Routing in Mesh Interconnection Networks
Routing is one of the basic parts of a message passing multiprocessor system. The routing procedure has a great impact on the efficiency of a system. Neural algorithms that are currently in use for computer networks require a large number of neurons. If a specific topology of a multiprocessor network is considered, the number of neurons can be reduced. In this paper a new recurrent neural ne...

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...
متن کاملMulti-Objective Lead Time Control in Multistage Assembly Systems (TECHNICAL NOTE)
In this paper we develop a multi-objective model to optimally control the lead time of a multistage assembly system. The multistage assembly system is modeled as an open queueing network, whose service stations represent manufacturing or assembly operations. The arrival processes of the individual parts of the product, which should be assembled to each other in assembly stations, are assumed to...

Reducing the number of colors in an image while preserving its quality, is of importance in many applications such as image analysis and compression. It also decreases memory and transmission bandwidth requirements. Moreover, classification of image colors is applicable in image segmentation and object detection and separation, as well as producing pseudo-color images. In this paper, the Kohene...
